Welcome to the Audi Q4 Owners Club & Forums. With the Q4 expected between now and 2016 we have got in early to provide fans of the new crossover.
Audi is adding new digits to its Q lineup, the latest being the Q4- a Range Rover Evoque rival. It will most likely be a fastback styled sporty version of the Audi Q5 and be launched by 2014-15.
The current Audi SUV lineup is the Q3 , Q5 and Q7 and the company is rumoured to add a Q6 to rival the BMW X6 and a Q1 to take on the Mini Countryman. With the Q4 SUV, Audi will also have a rival for the Range Rover Evoque. The company has ambitious plans of being one of the largest automobile manufacturers in the world as well as in its hometown Germany, and all the new niche models and releases will help them along really well.
Audi is planning to extend its range with 11 new models in the coming years. Most of these cars are SUVs built to become rivals with BMW X4, Range Rover Evoque or Mercedes GL 2013 has been a success for Audi, which is trying hard to catch-up with BMW. The Germans managed to exceed the threshold of 1.5 million units sold in a year, thus a performance achieved two years earlier than estimated by company officials
To maintain its upward trend in sales and become more competitive, Audi announces 11 new car models in its range. Under these conditions, the list of cars bearing the logo with four rings will total 60 products. “We will continue writing this success story and expand our models range from 49 to 60 variants. We see huge potential in the SUV segment and that of large sedans.” said Rupert Stadler, Audi chairman of the board. Although there are no official details about these new Audi cars, a few “spies” shed light on this case. Audi has recently announced several car names. These include Q2, SQ2, SQ4 and Q9. The information confirms Stadler ‘s intentions to strengthen Audi’s presence in the SUV segment.
Audi is pitching the Audi Q2 model as an upmarket crossover SUV and leaving the Q1 slot unoccupied in case it decides to introduce a smaller compact. The Q4 is still shrouded in secrecy. Audi currently sells Q3, Q5 and Q7 models.
Spy photos have surfaced showing the Q2 on test runs prior to its planned launch at next year’s Geneva show in March on the Audi Q2 Forum. Through spotted in heavy camouflage, the trademark Audi angular headlights and hexagonal grille can be clearly made out.
The Q2 notches in just below the Q3 and shares its modular MQB platform with the A3, the European version of the Volkswagen Passat and the seventh-generation Golf.
Renault Kadjar Forum
‘The name Kadjar is built around Kad and Jar,’ says today’s statement. ‘Kad is inspired by “quad” – representing a go-anywhere four-wheeled vehicle and Jar recalls the French words “agile” and “jaillir,” representing agility and suddenly emerging from somewhere.
‘The sound and spelling of the name – see our new forum @ kadjar forums have an exotic feel which suggests adventure and discovering new horizons. The initial letter ‘K’ is indicative of the model’s robustness and the Kadjar fits seamlessly with Renault’s existing B-segment crossover – Captur.’
Jaguar F-Pace Forum
The Jaguar F-Pace has now been confirmed as a full production crossover model that will rival cars such as the Audi Q5 and BMW X3. It first broke cover as a concept car called the C-X17 at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2013 but the name of the production version was announced in January 2015, why not take a look at our new f-pace forums.
The Jaguar’s styling takes obvious cues from other models in the range, including the Jaguar XF and Jaguar F-Type, but it is set to share most in common with the Jaguar XE (BMW 3 Series rival), which was launched at the Paris Motor Show in October of last year
Mercedes GLC Forum
The GLC is set to make its world debut at the Detroit motor show next January, although thanks to a new raft of changes toMercedes’ SUV model names the new car will be badged GLC. It has been developed in a joint engineering programme with the fourth-generation C-classand shares crucial elements of that car’s platform, drivelines and technical features, more info available on our glc forums
Codenamed X253, the new high-riding Mercedes aims to provide stiff competition for the likes of the Audi Q5, BMW X3 and upcoming Land Rover Discovery Sport.
Vauxhall Viva Owners
Vauxhall Viva to sit below the Adam and offer a £7k entry price for Vauxhall ownership
The new Vauxhall Viva has been shown at the Geneva Motor Show ahead of its on sale date in spring 2015. The new Vauxhall city car is expected to arrive with an affordable starting price of around £7,000.
The small city car, which will go up against a growing pool of talented rivals including the Skoda Citigo and new Toyota Aygo, revives theVauxhall Viva name after a 35-year absence. It’s been designed to slot below the stylish Adam and popular Corsa superminis in an ever-expanding Vauxhall range.
With a name that pays homage to Vauxhall’s original Viva made from 1963 to 1979, the all-new VIVA shares the original’s philosophy of clean lines, durability and practicality. It is designed for modern, everyday life and at 3.68 metres long is practical and spacious providing more than enough room for up to five people.
VIVA is the latest model in the range to display Vauxhall’s sculptured, precise design philosophy. Three strong feature lines swoop down the sides with the signature ‘blade’, seen previously on Insignia and GTC amongst others, slicing through the doors. The two others run through the front and rear door handles. The VIVA’s front end features a distinctive winged chrome bar that presents the Griffin badge.
Caravan & Motorhome Buyers
TDI-Tuning’s presence at the Caravan, Camping & Motorhome Show earlier this month with leading accessory dealer RoadPro was part of a combined marketing push in response to increased demand within the leisure vehicle market; figures released only two weeks ago by the National Caravan Council (NCC) show that new motorhome registrations increased by 18%, those of new touring caravans by nearly 10%. TDI-Tuning reports a 27% increase in sales of its tuning boxes to Fiat Ducato chassis-based motorhomes.
“We know that the consumer profile of the average caravan user has changed over the years, and is now younger than ever,” says TDI-Tuning Principal Graeme King. “These are people in their twenties and thirties who treasure the freedom and flexibility afforded by motorhomes and caravans, yet are used to modern creature comforts and the efficiency of state-of-the-art engines in their cars. We design and produce tuning boxes to align their caravans’ and motorhomes’ optimum functionality to what their owners expect from their (more efficient) cars.”
Like TDI-Tuning, which is a wholly-owned British company, leisure vehicles in the UK are “a British manufacturing success story, with more than 95% of touring caravans in the UK made in this country” (NCC). In an industry which contributes some £6b a year to the UK economy, the opportunity to improve both performance and fuel consumption of motorhomes and caravans adds to the current allure and fashionable use of these leisure vehicles.
The 2-series is 110mm longer than the 1-series hatchback, while measuring 72mm longer and 26mm wider than the 1-series Coupe it supersedes. This means a longer wheelbase and wider tracks, improving the handling, while there is more interior space and a bigger boot.
Engines at launch will be the 181bhp 220i petrol and 181bhp 220d diesel, the latter combining a 0-60 time of around seven seconds with claimed 64.2mpg fuel economy if you select the eight-speed automatic gearbox, which is optional on all launch models in place of a standard six-speed manual transmission.
Most interesting to us, though, is the M235i. Essentially a coupe version of theBMW M135i – one of the best hot hatchbacks on sale – it gets a slightly more powerful, 321bhp version of BMW’s 3-litre turbocharged straight-six petrol engine endowing it with a 4.8sec 0-62mph time and a 155mph electronically limited top speed. Pick the auto ‘box and a combined 37.2mpg is claimed. Biggest news of all, though, is the addition of a proper limited-slip differential, something the M135i sorely lacks and the improvements of which the video below proves.
Cars designated with an M followed by a single digit are the chosen ones. They’re born and bred under the auspices of BMW M GmbH, the in-house motorsports division responsible for spanking enemies at the track. Resourceful M-division engineers can swiftly apply to their road cars the structural gains, suspension improvements, aero refinements, and power secrets learned from racing.
So why is an M2 coming when BMW stores are already stocked with half a dozen M models? Because a wheelbase that is
4.8 inches shorter than the M3/M4’s will trim weight and improve agility. Because the $60,000-plus M4 is beyond the reach of the young customers BMW needs to restock its fan base. As a warm-up, the M folks recently introduced an $80,000 M235i coupe for endurance racing.

CRF1000L Africa Twin Forum
Honda has confirmed plans for the CRF1000L Africa Twin with two teaser-style dimly lit pictures of the front and side. The bike is due to be launched this autumn and will effectively make a production version of the ‘ ’ shown covered in mud at last year’s Eicma Milan motorcycle show.
Honda has indicated the machine will have real off-road potential, saying it will share the ‘go-anywhere’ attributes of the original 1988 XRV650 Africa Twin and ‘redefine’ what a large-capacity adventure bike is capable of.

KIA Niro Forum
the KIA Niro won’t share major components with either. And while Kia is giving us our first look at the Niro only in sketch form, the so-called “hybrid utility vehicle” appears close to production, given the sale-ready bumpers, lights, grille details, and side mirrors; not to forget, the Niro concept from 2013 already staked claim to the name “Niro concept.” We’re waiting to hear back on whether the Niro will debut at this week’s L.A. auto show or in January at the 2016 Detroit show. Either way, the Niro could prove a clever entry point for Kia to the stand-alone hybrid game.
The reputation for cheap and rugged off-roaders that’s come to define SsangYong in the UK is upheld by 4×4 versions of the Tivoli, but many customers will settle for the greater fuel economy of the front-wheel drive examples. A further choice between a six-speed manual gearbox and a six-speed auto, which is the same as the gearbox found in the MINI, gives the Tivoli one of the most varied ranges in the compact crossover class.
SsangYong hopes that this broad scope of choice, coupled with the Tivoli’s attractive design, generous specification and five-year unlimited mileage warranty will be enough to attract buyers – and that’s not to mention a starting price of under £13,000. The Tivoli isn’t the last word in quality, but it handles neatly, offers lots of cabin space and looks good. Buyers choosing it will still be motivated primarily by value for money, but SsangYong won’t mind that one bit, as the car should be surprisingly good to own.
The new seven-seater SUV from Skoda may be called the Kodiak and is likely to make its official debut at the 2016 Paris Motor Show after a web reveal during the summer months. It will be based on parent company VW’s MQB platform and will slot in above the Yeti.
The Kodiak is expected to share much of its underpinnings and feature list with the upcoming Volkswagen Tiguan XL but will in essence be a lower cost version of the latter. It is expected to get front-wheel drive as standard but will also get AWD options across both engine options. Expect a seven-speed DSG as well as a six-speed manual across the range.
According to the Skoda Kodiac Forum the car will be Skoda’s D-segment weapon of choice in markets like China, India and in certain regions of Europe where Skoda’s cars are quite popular. It will be built at Skoda’s Kvasiny plant in the Czech Republic.
